Wrapping up 2011 has been busy and fun.
On November 11, 2011 RSVP received verification of progress on the Mission Valley Aquatics pool construction.
From November 30, 2010 through November 31, 2011 RSVP in Lake County has added 25 new volunteers to our roles. Many of the new volunteers were recruited by current RSVP volunteers. THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!
RSVP in Lake County will start our year off by participating in the Martin Luther King Diversity Fair at the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center in Pablo on Thursday, January 19.
An RSVP sponsored workshop on “Living with Alzheimer’s Disease” will take place on Tuesday Jan 24 at the Lake County Health Dept at 802 Main St in the conference room. We hope to see you there. If you are an RSVP member the presentation is free, with a $5.00 registration fee for all others.
Finally our fiscal year has been shortened, so will end on March 31, 2012. If you are a volunteer try to get your time submitted as soon as you serve it. If you are a volunteer work station, please verify and/or submit your volunteer’s time as soon as you can. We want to give them the accolades that are due.
Oct 14 & 15 RSVP was present at the Pow Wow Grounds in Arlee for the Stand Down. The Stand Down for Veterans was modeled after the original Stand Down concept used during the Vietnam War to provide a safe retreat for units returning from combat operations. Stand Downs are intended to be collaborative, grassroots events coordinated between local VAs, other government agencies, and community agencies which serve Veterans. The connections were great.
